Letters of invitation to the ACTS
Toolkit Workshop are sent to scientists at National Laboratories
and
Universities. Summer Internship (June-August): David Strait joins the
ACTS
Toolkit Project. David is an intern at LBNL/NERSC with a fellowship
from
the DOE Office of Science, Community College Initiative in
Biotechnology,
Environmental Science, and Computing. David was given a briefing on the
ACTS Toolkit, and his assignment was to select a tool from the ACTS
Toolkit,
and examine its functionality and easiness of use. Based on his
background
and interests, David selected TAU. |

Hold Joint Meeting, Berkeley, CA: The U.S. Department of Energy's
National
Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) at Lawrence
Berkeley
National Laboratory hosted a daylong meeting with San
Diego Super Computer Center representatives to discuss technical
areas
of common interest. Tony Drummond presented a quick overview of the
ACTS
Toolkit that led to some joint educational and outreach plans for the
ACTS
Toolkit and SDSC computational libraries for High Performance computing. |
