I would like to attend the Acts Workshop Sep 28-30. I am the manager of the Parallel Tools Group at San Diego Supercomputer Center. In this role I advise users on tools for parallel computing. In the past I have been director of training for the center and I am still active is creating and delivering presentations for training.

I would like to take what I learn at the workshop and pass it on to other users.

My position at SDSC does not lend itself to "formal" papers. I recently presented the talk "Course grain parallelism in OpenMP with MPI" at the Workshop on OpenMP Applications and Tools Conference (WOMPAT 2000).
For our last training session at SDSC I developed the talks:

• The New IBM SP,
• Intro to MPI,
• The Stommel model (our example program for MPI programming),
• Stommel in MPI,
• OpenMP,
• Hybrid MPI/OpenMP.
