I work in the Scientific Computing Department at SDSC. I currently am working on 4 major projects. Two projects are where I work with a researcher using one of NPACI's machines to port and/or optimize their application. The third project I work on is a benchmarking project, where our current goal is to characterize the performance of Blue Horizon. The final project I work on is in the Scientific Computing Services Group (Donald's group). This group supports all NPACI users through consulting, training, and documentation.

I am interested in learning about the toolkit for two main reasons. In my porting and optimizing projects it is alway benefitial to know what tools are available to the user and could possibly be used to make the user's application run more efficiently. The second reason is in the support area.

I already have experience using ScaLAPACK and some with PETSc. I am interested in learning more about PETSc and the other tools.
