This short
course will address common problems in computational science applications and
will present a number of solutions using robust numerical software tools that
spawn from more than two decades of research in software development for High
Performance Computing Systems. It will be particularly beneficial to scientists and engineers developing computational applications. Participants should expect to learn
about techniques used to solve common computational problems, get
an introduction on the use of the tools and become familiarized with
criteria for selecting the techniques, methods and tools in a particular
problem area. The software presented during this course is freely available
and widely used by the computational sciences international community. The course includes interactive hands-on sessions for participants with all levels of computer expertise.
